A hunting buddy shot this pig Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'd say it was 200-225 lbs based on the length. We didn't have a tape measure, so I just used my rifle to get a rough estimate. We cut it's head off and skinned it since it's got a nice set of teeth.IMG_20160619_025925_753.jpgIMG_20160619_071805_754.jpg IMG_20160619_090054_330.jpg

Sweet will you boil or set on an ant hill?

If it was my choice I'd boil it. However he's going to do the ant pile deal. He just wants the tusks.

We walked about 3/4 of a mile thru Milo fields to get a shot on it and a sounder of pigs. If you thought the walk was bad, the walk back carrying the head was even worse. I dropped two and Ben and his son each dropped one. Ben had the biggest one.

Great cutters on that head. Infact, what a nice European Mount that one'd make.

Last night the girls asked if we could go hunting for Father's Day. Of course! Took em to my regular field where I had spread some corn a couple days earlier. Didn't see a damn thing, and by 10:30pm one kid was asleep and the other was bored. lol It was a good time anyway.

Woke up this morning at 3 am to go help a buddy get a few out of the soybeans. We stalked down the slough in the middle of the field and found this big fella trying to get back to the woods before sunrise.

On the way back to the house we rode down alongside a slough and I spotted one on the other side. Took a running shot at 60yds and connected but the blood trail stopped after he took a swim. Dead hog somewhere for sure. My buddy got on a huge sow and dropped her DRT. Needless to say.....we're having ribs tonight!

Great kids... asking to hang with dad during one of his activities. Too bad they didn't get to connect and get the hook set. Great hog hanging too. Love seeing the meat getting put to good use. Congrats.

This guy had his last mouthful of wheaties last night. The 6.8 shot behind the ear dropped him but it took several rounds from my G20 to turn out the lights. This wheat field was lost due to flooding but now the hogs have pretty much plowed it for us - but not in a good way.

Losing a whole field of crop... no Bueno. Congrats on one less hog though.

Yep, agreed RD. Only consolation was that this field that floods is one of our smaller fields.

Busy couple of days hunting. Finally finished my dedicated Anderson upper and lower for the 6.8. Swapped the *** barrel over to it and couldn't be any happier. What a gun. Took it out several times and put a couple on the ground.

Shot one Thursday night on the run. Didn't recover it but found it in the field the next day. Boy these buzzards are efficient. Went out last night and put one right between the eyes of a 200lb boar at 70 yds. Couldn't be happier with this gun!
