Frank...have you tried yours out at the range? Wondering what if feels like shooting it from the shoulder. I am going to try one out tomorrow with my Cousin, he has an AR pistol in 7.62 x 39

The original config was great, this actually gives more area to shoulder so I think it will be great.

I have one on my 7.5" pistol. I honestly cant tell the difference between this brace and a stock when its at my shoulder.

Still balances good

Got the vortex optic mounted

Love mine! I have not changed mine yet from the Phase5 tube to the KAK tube and spacers that are made for use w the Sig brace and give you a longer length. I think I will wait till my night vision comes in I intend to use to see if the added length is needed.

I use mine while waiting for SBR stamp. That way I can build the upper and just run a pistol lower until the stamp is received.

I prefer a real stock for adjustability with clothing or gear, also a real stock has better sling attachment methods. But on the other hand the Sig brace gets the job done rather well just have to sacrifice these two items. As far as comfort and cheek weld it fells like the real deal.

I us to refrain from commenting on shouldering these, but after the letter from the ATF on this matter I am comfortable putting my thoughts on an public format. Even though back then I knew shouldering wasn't illegal I didn't want to attract attention.

Yeah w the KAK tube and spacers it is perfect and very adjustable I have a sling mount, a QD at the tube and plate.

Eastern Hunter in the 6.8 forum just attached one of those to a P308 pistol with a 12" barrel he is very happy with purchase. He said recoil was light but very loud. He is waiting on his suppressor.

My new build with thermal. Will be sighting this in on Sunday or Monday night at the shooting club.

It has a 10.5" YHM bbl,KVP linear comp,Spikes lower,Geissele trigger,KAK tube, and SIG brace using only the small spacer. This build is chambered in 6.8SPCII. The gun is 28 1/2" OAL and has a 12 1/4" LOP---- pruhdlrSANY0065.JPG SANY0066.JPG

New SIG SBX Brace on the way? Supposed to be $149Sig-Folding-Brace-1.jpg

The SIG SB15 brace has been a popular accessory for those who are interested in an improvised shouldering aid (not a stock) or as an interim holdover before their NFA stamp comes back from the ATF.

Apparently SIG has announced a new version of the brace and had it on display at the NRA national convention.

Yep, that’s a folding mechanism on it. No word if the brace comes with the folding adapter standard or if it’s an add on piece.

WarriorTalk member SVO had this to say:

Sig will stop selling the SB15 shortly, supposedly by September (I bet plenty will remain with wholesalers after this time). The replacement is the SBX, which looks much less like a stock and more like someone duct taped the buffer tube to their arm. It may or may not work as well as the SB15. That is to say, it looks rigid enough, but I have no idea if it is, yet.

Gun Mutt, another WarriorTalk member, wrote that the SIG rep stated the brace will be available in about two weeks and is made out of a more rigid material than the first one.

I feel like the profile is more streamlined than the first version, which is helpful for my particular endeavor of highly portable rifles and PDW. However, there is some concern that the new version won’t be as useful as an improvised stock. Time will tell.

Had mine out to the range quite a bit.

Works great even with the heavy recoil of the 458. I am having an issue though. I need to lengthen the throw a little as every time I fire two things happen. One the brace pushes up on the tube a little. Two I hit my nose on the charging handle. Last time it brought tears to the eyes. Not sure if I am going to SBR a lower or not. I do like the compact nature of this pistol. I have even tried firing it on the forearm. Well not the most comfortable thing in the world. If I had a laser it would work. But with BUIS or optics no way.

bldsmith, Try the KAK tube AND spacers to get back of a bit, the tube is longer and the spacer allow you to place the brace where you want it for eye relief and nose protection.

Will look into that one.. Would be nice to have a little adjust-ability. The 300JHPs aren't too bad but the 325's and 405's pack a wallop.

Yeah it makes a huge difference. I have a phase 5 on mine and a block so the brace does not go on all the way and w no recoil on the 6.8 I am ok. I got the KAK and spacers just have not put it on yet but may not need it.

Got a Gen 2 Tube on the way. It is 3.5" longer to get me back a bit. I can add spacers if needed too.
