when I drove by the field I shot the three hogs in last week I saw something I thought was unusual.
I saw what looked like a large hog and a coyote standing together. I studied the scene for a moment to see if I could figure it out and concluded they were both eating on the dead hogs. Didn’t take long for the coyote to high tail it out of there but the hog was oblivious to me watching.
Same wind as last week so I had go all the way around the perimeter of the field to be able to approach.
Turns out it was an angular illusion. It just looked like the two were standing together from the position where I first spotted them.
I wound up walking right through the scene of the crime to get to the hog, but at the time I just knew I had a carnivore on my hands.
