Planned a hunt several nights ago with a buddy to the freshly planted peanut fields.
I cancelled because I didn't feel well.
My buddy noticed this load boar coming up a well established path into a 40A peanut field. He cut him off using his electric buggy. The hog was steadily moving streight towards him and he did not want to take a head on shot.
At 75 yds the hog made a hard left turn and presented the perfect broadside shot.
At the shot, the hog ran but he soon found him dead using his thermal. The hog went about 50yds.
My friend was shooting his RARR chambered in 300BLK. He was using the Barnes 110gr black tips (30321). The shot was on the shoulder and took the heart and major blood vessels. His thermal is an older (well made) ATN ThOR 320.
This boar hog weighed right at 300lbs. ---- pruhdlr
