It TOOK a while...

I saw them early in January, sometimes groups of 3 or 4 or 5, but always hundreds of yards away and they would not come to the caller. I got a couple of shots off, but the first was a minor catastrophe and the second managed to hit the coyote, but the coyote made it into the thick brush of a deep ravine. Finally, one cooperated.

A dog in the hand is worth two in the ravine..........Kudos Brian.

Song dog sang its' swan song.

Good video. Interesting observations regarding the bullet performance.

At least you actually got that yote to come in and drop him cold. Congrats on the kill.
I tried calling with my AlphaDog a few nights ago,, several dogs came a couple hundred yards or so - to the creek and wouldn't cross.
So - no show, and no shots taken.

Good job Brian.

I've had the same problem. They've been coming out but not close enough to shoot. I've seen 20+ the past few weeks and finally got one the night before.

Well, I got lucky with a hungry one, this time. Calling coyotes isn't my thing as you can tell from the skill expressed from the call I was blowing. I actually hate that call, but it often works. It is a ...

It is loud and obnoxious and I don't like to use it without hearing protection on, but it seems to work despite my lack of skill.

Seems like that round is fur-friendly. Seen Randy Anderson's 'yote call videos? He seems to've figured out their language. He collaborated with PRIMOS on calls.

Nice kill B.
