I feel really bad that Cletus has been working like a borrowed mule this week and was too tired to go tonight, but... My stepdad Donnie and I have been looking at pictures of these too long and pouring corn in the holes every day and he wanted to shoot, so here we go! Me, Big Rick, and Tomcat met Donnie at his house early to founder ourselves on some shrimp creole he had whipped up and kicked back enjoying an adult beverage while waiting on the Covert to tell us it was time to go! We have 2 bait piles behind Donnie's house and just swap the covert between the piles as needed... Turns out this go round there has been only one sow, 5 shoats, and the white boar at this pile and over 30 on the other... Oh well, we are lazy and hunt the Covert anyway. The pics started coming tonight and we promptly jumped in the truck and got as close as we dared then stalked in and wiped out the bunch! Well we also have a corn hole in another pasture up the road and a large boar has been digging in it every night as well so we load up and go take a look. Nothing but a couple yotes in the field when we get there, but he showed up after a crueling 5 minute wait and heads straight for the hole. This pasture is wide open so we got a little closer to the hole and let him work his way to us... At about 120 yards the gig was up and it was time to cut loose. He tried to leave out, but just couldn't tote what we were giving him lol
