Just joined, and would like to share the deer/hog hunting rig I put together last year:
Heel Stamped Polytech
Obermeyer barrel I turned from blank
Surefire Legacy Can
NXS 2.5x10
Crane Navy SSR Mk Mod2 Scope Mount rail
Turning a 14 type barrel from a blank is such a royal pain, will not do that again after I finish the 338 Federal rebarrel on my other Polytech.
The SSR mount is probably the best design around. The front ring is sandwiched between the barrel and the receiver. The rear mount is secured by 2 bolts. Had to set shoulder and headspace appropriately to accommodate the front ring
I bought the Surefire can back when Silencer Shop just got started with their business operating out of their house.
Rifle is bedded in the wood stock with just plain old JB Weld. Don't laugh, my double lug in a McM stock was bedded with JB Weld. On its 3rd barrel, close to 15K on the same bedding, it still shoots
Target was shot last week, cold bore shot, 200 yards, M118 LR
