Did some hunting with Alex on Saint Patrick's Night. This is the first time we got onto hogs during the evening and we got onto a mess of them. We thought the hogs would go right and most went left. We pivoted in different directions following hogs. I ended up with some interesting shot opportunities (mostly on piglets) but also on two hogs at really long range (for me). I was having trouble connecting and Alex told me that they hogs were 400-500 yards away. I doubled my holdover and finally dropped the remaining hog on the first try after being given the range. Looking at the video and the hog that it was, I was holding over 2.5 feet or so, which would put the shot at 375 yards or more, my longest kill to date. In the video, I am zoomed to 18x (4.5x native magnified 4 times).
The grass isn't up all that high yet, but it is up high enough to mostly hide 150 lb hogs and make piglet parts disappear from view all together. Spring is definitely here!
