Sidearm that you carry while hunting

If I carry one at all it's most likely my Walther .22lr or maybe my 9mm S&W Shield. Those are just for making them go to the light, if they have enough life left in them that I'm concerned I just shoot them again with my rifle.

Yeah, the fact that I find a downed hog that's still alive means it's not very mobile, or it would still be running.
A .22 to the head usually quiets them down pretty fast.
