It's a low resolution, slow refresh rate thermal optics for those wanting to get into the thermal game.
The TWS has a screen and no ocular lenses. It seems that you have to mount it about 8" from your eye to clearly see the screen

Is not a comparison. The Torrey Pines is a mini thermal units and the sig is a large Thermal weapon sight. They both have pretty low resolution cores

Yea but I had almost constant meetings this year not much time to look around.
The Echo1 is a slightly >200 resolution 1x optic, 2x digital, 30hz. So it is still pretty low resolution as Sean noted, but more than quadrupal that of the Torrey Pines Logic T10 units and with a significantly larger lens and larger price. Sig claimed detection to 1000 yards and targeting out to 300 yards. I think that may be a bit optimistic. I didn't see anything on how far you can ID something, but at 200 resolution and no optical magnification, I think that will bring hog level identification (versus deer versus calf) down below 100 yards based on actual size/shape. The Echo1 is more of a reflex sight and going to be most useful at shorter distances as you would typically use a reflex sight
Interesting. That was not advertised at SHOT. All of the information on it has it as a 1x and will zoom to 2x. So there is a different model, you are saying?

My vortex strike fire has a doubler and or a flip to the side 3x magnifier, so i was thinking that is what this does too but internally.
Of course that is because I am thinking this is a red dot thermal type thingy
