I never heard about this so thanks for posting. The student gun protest is definitely motivated by the liberals.
I was at the gun range today and after our safety talk the speaker told us we need to support the NRA and pro gun lobbyists. I'm already an NRA member but today joined the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA).

I also contact my representatives on gun control maters and so should everyone.

No, I would not expect the media to cover a small, single school rally to any great extent. It is a local, singular, small event and not terribly newsworthy, certainly not at the national level. Have kids walk out of school in protest for gun rights or march on the Mall in DC by the 10s of thousands and you can bet it will be covered by the media.

I had actually seen some coverage of this here in Atl. But no, it didn't get the same coverage, mainly because as Brian pointed out, it was a much smaller, local event.
Another kid from the school made national news speaking up for gun rights.
