My wife had to work Christmas Night (the joys of being an RN) so I decided to go to one of the orchards that had developed a sever badger problem. There are holes everywhere and the landowner wants them GONE! I have spotted a couple while hog hunting with clients, but the shots just never happened. This time I planned to setup near their holes and work the predator calls.
I was sitting against a fence calling away and of course coyotes show up, but no badgers. Three yotes came in and I just let them be. The hung around for about 10 minutes! One finally sat down and just stared at me. I didn't plan to shoot them because I was after the badgers, but after 10 minutes my right index finger got too itchy.
I plugged this guy at 120 paces from me. I was using my 7.62x39 AR15 with an EOtech and pvs14 with a 3x magnifier. He dropped like a rock and never even twitched. Wyle E. says Merry late Christmas too all.
