If you have them handy, how about some specs on that bench please?

It looks like the smart scene can either hurt the image pretty bad, or make the image much clearer. Just have to find the sweet spot in the settings I'm sure. I think it'll be a benefit in the summer time early in the night when everything is still real hot out.

I found out its not the smart scene washing out the background it's the Flir automatic gain enhancement doing most of it. The purpose again is to make the targets pop and be clear to the shooter. They are working on making this an on off option in the near future for people who want all the detail all the time.

That makes a lot more sense to it washing out.
So right now the gain is automatic only? Or can you adjust the gain manually?

It is automatic right now they are working on changing it.
