For the second time in this field, I head out for one target and end up going after another. What looked to be a sow and 2 or 3 piglets downwind of me (only way in) disappeared after 250 yards of my approach with me at least that far away from them as well, but then I saw a lone boar off to the west. Later when I retrieved my truck, I discovered that the sow and piglets were apparently calves in a low area behind a rise.

I have to wonder if this was the boar from Monday night that I didn't go after, choosing instead to go after the tripod hog. No matter, it had to go. The IR Hunter MKIII 4.5x did very well despite the high humidity and the CBB MKZ 118 gr. performed well, managing the pass through 5 layers of bone including the spine.

That CBB looks to be a good performer. Should net you some fairly nice velocity as well. Always enjoy your follow-up narrative.

Nice shot and good hog down! Another good vid!!

Thanks for doing this Brian. I hate touching them. I don't even want my rifle touching them. They stink too much. I always enjoy watching you do it though.

Cavity Back bullets do it again for you Brian. Like I said before - dead is dead.
Lots of bone shattered and tissue destroyed on that hog. Congrats.

gnarly vid. good scope clarity too. what scope settings do you use in high humidity for contrast, focus, brightness etc?
