    Ideas?

The place I hunt is 2500 acres and is basically a cattle ranch with the only crop being hay. I’ve hunted this place for 3 years and have never seen a Sow or piglets. I kill 15-20 Boars a year here and they are always by themselves and never over 200 lbs till just recently. In the last week I’ve...

which tripod to use with the M-LOK Tripod Adapter

^^^^^ Yes and it pans 360 degrees in total silence. I can’t imagine a situation where a ball head would be required vs the leveling base. I’ve also seen some guys using the leveling base with a different brand tripod to save money but I’m uncertain of which size & brand they are using Here is...

I love my RRS setup but it’s expensive. I personally cant imagine a better setup. You can get it with a Mlock or keymod

Looking for Advice on Thermal for Coyote Problem

Also, if you have any tiny amount of calling skill either manual or electronic you should be able to get a coyote within 50-100 yds pretty easily. Most of my called coyotes at night have been 30-50 yds max.

Looking for Advice on Thermal for Coyote Problem

It’s rare that u will need a range finder when hunting at night with thermal. Although some times it’s nice to know. For coyotes Many guys use a caliber that shoots flat enough where you can hit a 4” circle from 0-300 yds or further. Then you just aim for center mass and your bullet should hit...

What ever you do, rent the units you are looking at before you buy. If u don’t need a full time unit renting is very cost effective.

    Broke in my IR Hunter!!!

Good Story. I always have a notarized permission slip in my pocket from each landowner. So far it has saved me for knocking on their door at 4am, not sure they would appreciate that:). You will love the extended battery pack setup from UNV when u can afford it as long as you don’t accidentally...

    MK3 or REAP IR?

My on off switch does the same thing. I once drove 3 hrs for a hunt and when I got there my batteries were dead. Every since then I disconnect the battery when ever I case the rifle or lay it in the back seat.

    640 vs 336

Don’t know about core differences since mine are all 640 but I did switch to a higher optical mag for the same reasons you stated. I went from 2.5 to 4.5 optical and other than the smaller FOV I am super happy. I can see my targets so much better. The FOV sucks at first till u get used to it...
