    Runaway trap

Never thought about that. I think I will start tieing it off.

    Runaway trap

Got these in the same spot as the group of 12. Hopefully it's the last of them. Going to check the cameras in a couple days to see if any more are hitting the feeders. They were trying to take my trap with them. You can see it usually sits in the slot on the right side of the picture with the...

    Thinning the herd

Thanks. I've tried a lot of different traps and that style is my go to. Only style that is peaking by interest now is all these remote traps.

    Thinning the herd

We have been getting tore up by pigs the last couple of months. Finally had some time to set the traps. There was 12 in this group. Had 2 that didnt make it in the trap. Saw them outside it when I drove up. There was a pile of baby pigs running that I'm hoping the coyotes got. This is always...

    How does this trap work?

When you lay it flat tie a small sash cord type rope to the top of the door that runs across the width of the trap (short side) and out one of the squares. Make the rope a hair over double the width of the trap. Basically when the door is shut, your rope and snap should still be outside the trap...

    Floor or no floor ?

No floors. Most of the hogs I'm messing with are extremely trap smart. Its just another hassle to deal with when you have to cover with dirt or what ever. I have actually had to bury trip wires and I would not be able to do that with a floor. Plus, with no market for them its a lot easier to pop...

    Ruger AR-556 in 350 Legend

Is that considered a pistol or do you have a stamp or is that? After reading around I cant just start slapping my AR lowers on the pistol upper so I need to be sure what I am buying. My ************** upper is a tack driver @ 100, no doubt.

    Ruger AR-556 in 350 Legend

I liked the appeal of the price point and a gun of that size you can readily purchase ready to go. Im a big fan of 30-30 and have killed more animals in general with it than any other I own. The reality is 99.9% of my night shots are less than 100yds, with a vast majority being in the 75yd...

    Ruger AR-556 in 350 Legend

Has any one used one of these with a thermal or NV set up? The size and price is very appealing. Looks like the ballistics are almost identical to a 30-30. Ruger® AR-556® Pistol * Centerfire Pistol Model 8571 Thanks

    Snow Boar

Sorry to hear that. This is a tough time of year to be calving Brahman cattle.

    Snow Boar

I was checking cattle after the snow and this poor guy was under the feeder as I drove by. I went up about 50yds where he couldn't see me and parked. I walked back to the blind and sat. A couple minutes later he came back out.

    Threading Remington 700 barrel

Just using a cheap old tape it looks like about 5/8". The barrel looks like 21" just measuring from the outside and 1.5-2" will need to be cut off to get past the screws for the sights I'm assuming.

    Threading Remington 700 barrel

Is there enough meat on a standard Remington 700 barrel to thread for a suppressor? I have an older .243 I bought a couple years ago that I would like to be able to put my AAC 6.8mm suppressor on.

    Question about trapping hogs

I know hogs will eat other hogs but I agree with RD on sticking to more conventional methods. Corn is still my go to although it gets harder during deer season when every one fires their feeders up. If you want to get serious find a way to keep some hogs alive in the trap and you will catch more...

    Guess I dropped the ball...

They stack up on this place because I dont mess with them during the summer. They get pretty spooky during deer season. My favorite time to hunt it is Jan-March. It gets dark early, its cool, they are coming to feeders because most people have turned theirs off. I have been chasing a big boar...

    Guess I dropped the ball...

These guys moved in right under my nose and I didn't even know it. Total disrespect just walking around in the daylight like that.

    Snake boots

I like my Justin snake boots. Had a pair if Danners before. They were comfortable but I had to have the ankle area opened up. I wear my Justins to work in all day and they have stayed water proof so far. What I like most is the Justins are made to wear under the pant leg like a regular boot...

    Caught Same Hog Twice!

I used to use bait pigs in my big traps when I was trapping a lot. A big sow works the best but a boar will work also. After I trap one I would keep it in a pen for a good month feeding it every day. Then I would turn it out when a bunch of damage would show up at the ranch and start baiting my...
