Another Great Video. Thanks. X39 seems to be a pretty effective platform on hogs. Now you just need to find an expanding bullet.

Agree. I tend to complain about long videos, loud music, and anything else I can think of - but that was a good video! Thanks!

I know there are some that don't like the new format, but all the numbers point to a large majority do like it. So it's here to stay.

Last ones have been too short, wish they would get back to the 15-20 minutes!

Nice to see you give the 7.62x39 some love. In addition to the 123gr SST's, you should try the Tula 154 grain soft point bullets. A lot of guys on the gun forums have had a lot of success with those and they are amongst the most accurate of the combloc loads out there and are a fraction of the cost of the SST's.

Here's a link to some...

Here's another Tula load designed to fragment like crazy.

I did some cipherin' and it seems it'd only take a couple thousand rounds before that Mutant paid for itself.

Is this out of a 10.5" barrel? When I get the 16" upper I think the 154gr may work well not sure if I can get enough velocity in the sbr.

Have only heard of guys using them out of 16in barrels. Not sure about 10in SBR's. Only one way to find out.
Have been using a Rock River Lar 47 for about 2 years with great accuracy . Got an MK 47 Mutant about 6 months ago and it is equally as good as both have a 16 inch barrel. The cheap 154 gr SP shoots about 1 1/2 to 2" at 100 yds out of both guns and is deadly on hogs. Have not usually shot past 150 yds but that is all I need and the cost per round is cool.

Can you tell if the 154gr is opening up? The 123gr was not out of the sbr.

It was a great video and fun intro....when there is a lot of action or suspense for the next thing it is easy to keep interested ...even for the deeej.

Performance is proportional to shooting distance in my opinion with the 154 gr sp. Keep the shots under 75 yds and the bullet will expand to a degree but not like a copper jacketed bullet. When you get over 100 yds I treat it like an FMJ and head shoot or shoot for the shoulder just to slow them down for a follow up shot if needed. I have a lot of respect for the 7.62 x 39 and with these rifles the accuracy is all I need. I tried to test the 154 gr sp on dirt clods but my Garrett metal detector needs new batteries and I'll get back to you on that.
