Beaten, Embarrassed, then Vindicated

I secured permission to hunt this one property for Monday. No hogs showed up. This is a property that is about a mile long, but not terribly deep. 95% of it can be scanned from the road. I went by several times and saw nothing.

Tuesday morning, the landowner calls and asked if I shot any hogs because the area next to the house got hit overnight. ERRRRRRR. Apparently, they came after 2:00 am. So I said I would be back.

Tuesday night, spied this guy, but I don't think he did all the damage. It was a very calm night with little ambient noise, so I did not approach any closer...Oh, and then the cops cops showed up to find out what I was doing. Fortunately, I didn't have hogs in the field at the time.


Thursday night was blustery. I had spent the first part of the evening hunting else where and swung by to check this property to seem if I could find the culprits responsible for the damage. I ended up shooting at these from within 15 yards of where I killed the hog on Tuesday night.


Checked by last night and all was quiet. Maybe I missed them again. Maybe they are gone for a while.

Happy landowner ! Seven of those bastages gone, including two working factories! Hero status attained. And, warm cookies for the kiddos too. Nice work.
