Quick coyote hunt 12-3-16

Checked a couple spots before heading for the deer stand and came across a pair. Quickly called this guy in and got him with a lung shot. Ran a few yards before he collapsed. Poor thermal picture quality due to the terrible wet weather conditions.

Always amazed at the way coyotes run off when shot. Just wound up I suppose.

It's hard to anchor them without a head or neck shot I think. I'm working up a new load for my blackout that I think will improve performance significantly on them as well as pigs.

If I wasn't in such a hurry I might have been able to wait for a decent head shot but I was in a rush to get going and go get in my deer stand.

Every coyote I shoot either runs off or falls over then gets up somehow and drags itself into the brush.
Tonight I shot 3 mice with the pellet gun and they all scampered off too....maybe it's just me.
