Liberals ramping up attack against guns and free speech.

How much would it cost in the form of an enhanced membership on this website if we could post “X” number of bytes of video each month?

I am wondering why the NRA does not fund and begin a Utube like site, google, faceplant and such, they would make millions doing so and have more money to fight anti gun legislation

It would be nice if they did, but you can darned sure bet they would moderate it. They would inhibit the "free speech" of those who wanted to post anti-gun videos, no doubt about it. That would be their right and you would not hear any pro-gun people complaining about it.

Not sure how much money they would make. Youtube gets money from selling advertisements, and now by selling programming. How many companies are going to be advertising space on a gun-based video hosting site, particularly one run by a political organization like the NRA? The sample for the potential market of advertisers would be cut significantly compared to YouTube. A lot will shy away from this given today's political environment.

It is not about how much money can be made, it is about ensuring our 2nd Amendment right. The fee would be more to pay for the costs to host the videos and information and not to see how much it generates from advertising. If the companies won't advertise on this site, then you can bet your bottom dollar they ain't advertising on any pro gun site before today.

The money is how they try and control companies and people. If you don't take porkies being popped by ARs off your site, then I won't give you my $$$ and give it to someone else. If the site was supported by gun owners and hunters, without any outside assistance. Then we can tell them to go pi55 up a rope, we like popping porkies with ARs. If they protest and lobby us, then that is free advertisement and a bright shining beacon to all that we are united in defending our 2nd Amendment right.

Whatever and whomever does the replacement YouTube it needs to be a clone of the original YouTube. One where all topics minus illegal, or terrorist are allowed. A guns only site will never fully succeed in my opinion.

Yes, YouTube evolved over the years and I am sure they put a lot of $ into development of the platform that worked so well. There are numerous other video hosting sites out there, many with huge followings, but they don't offer what YouTube offers, either. Some don't allow for followers, provide statistics on your channel, or have very sophisticated search engines. Some limit video length/file size/video quality. Many of these remind me of early YouTube in various ways. It will be hard to find another host that will be up and running with all the same features as YouTube.

It may come down to hitchin' our horses less functional wagon in the short term until something better comes along.

Well, I still see MAC, hickock45, reloading channels, my channel, other hunting channels all still on Facebook.

I see where FULL30 (by RattlesnakeDan's perspective) is still limiting free speech by only allowing a few elite people to speak on their website despite the claims that they would soon be allowing all creators on it.

I see the NRA still doesn't have a video website either.

When men refuse to stand for what is right, then they must be willing to give up their rights. Nothing new under the sun.

This isn't a civil rights issue. YouTube provides a free service and ALLOWS people to post on their property. They even pay many people to do so, but in exchange for people getting to post on YouTube's property, the people agree to abide by YouTube's rules. They essentially gave up their rights in exchange for getting to use YouTube's free video hosting and they did so voluntarily.

As for standing for what is right, I have noticed that most of the folks who have complained loudest about how unfair YouTube is are still pumping out videos on YouTube and many are still generating quite a bit of income in doing so, maybe not from YouTube, but from their sponsors who see YouTube as free advertising.

So what do you suggest be done to 'stand up for what is right' so as to tell YouTube that they are wrong for how they are legally running their business within their rights?

There is a spiritual battle going on that has been ramped up these days. Some see it, some refuse to see and some recognize it but choose the wrong side. I like to see where others stand on issues of these days. A man shall be known by his fruits.

It seems courts recently ruled that the president cannot block people on his Twitter account. It's a violation of their 1st Amendment rights.

So, can we assume the same applies to YouTube? It's a public forum, and they're taking away our right to freely express ourselves!

Trump can't block users from his Twitter feed, federal judge rules

Get this: Illinois passed in the State House HB2354, still needs to pass the state senate and the governor still needs to sign the bill if is passed.
It is outrageous. Calls for a Firearm Restraining order where anyone in a, gun owners house, or or anyone dating a gun owner can deem the gun owner dangerous to himself, herself or others can go to he county sheriff and obtain a firearm restraining order and a search warrant of the gun owner residence and remove all firearms. All this without knowledge of the gun owner or due process.

If this bill passes and becomes law I'll be leaving Illinois

Until somebody gets the ACLU involves and sues places such as YouTube and Lone Star Boars, I don't see this changing.

Dan, you said I danced around the issues. Are you not dancing around the fact that THIS forum uses censorship, or is this not a problem for you because you are not affected? I am just curious about this spiritual battle and how spiritual it really is. We are not allowed to mention particular product names or vendors on this forum, a public forum, not run by a liberal, but by a conservative. Type in names like ************** and you get asterisks. You don't seem the least little bit bothered by this. Why? It is censorship, plain and simple, by an owner of a privately owned, public online forum. I see where numerous other online forums do not allow for the discussions of certain topics. Would that also quality as censorship? You bet. So you can't start a thread and talk about the new car stereo system you installed on your Jeep Cherokee on The Firing Line, a conservative 2nd amendment discussion forum. You can't use foul language, there or discuss religion. These are all clearly forms of censorship on a privately held public forum. Where is your spiritual battle? Where are your fruits?

Whatever happened to porn hub becoming a legitimate non porno video hosting service similar to YouTube?

There was some discussion about that a few weeks or months ago? I’ve not heard anything since then.
