Zero it on on the highest zoom level. That should make a difference. If it doesn't, I'd be sending it back, nothing more frustrating than something that can be dialed in.

That's exactly what I use. Except here up north, it gets cold real quick. I stick it to an old file folder, taped to my target board, no problems out to 200 yds. I also use it for my Nemesis WP.

If it was me, I'd buy a cheaper thermal to scan with and continue to use the NV on yotes. I don't have 100's of hours of field testing like some on here, but I'm not convinced of the thermals for longer ranges on small targets. Temperature issues, POI with zoom change issues are two major points...

The FLIR debacle of the new releases last year pretty much soured me on them.

Any updates? Nice to have Blackstone around here to give good advice. If I get a 6.8. I plan on getting it from him.

Very interesting...keep us posted on what Pulsar says. Does it hold POI zooming in, from 2.7 to 5.4 and up? I have just been using mine to scan, but have been curious.

I have the XQ50 also, I wouldn't go any less than that. I'm pretty happy with it.

I would take a 2" roofing nail or big headed screw, sink it in the plywood, leave 1-1/4 or so sticking out. Hit it with a lighter or plumbing torch from the side so you don't burn the paper. Now you have a night tight hot spot to shoot at.

Is there such a thing as a precision thermal, or is " minute of pig" as good as it gets? There's lots of thermal experience here, and I just haven't a broad enough interface with numerous scopes to know what is the best for my application. I would like to be able to shoot yotes, out to 200yds...

Not everyone is shooting mags empty at running hogs, I'd like to know the most precise thermal for predator calling and head shots. I've seen an IR Hunter that changed POI with zoom level, would be nice to know if the new releases are any better.

Thanks guys, if they're happy , I'm happy! Sticking hogs is one of my favorite pastimes. Think I could do it every day if I had the means.

Shot a younger boar with the Innerloc Shape Shifter head. Been wanting to test this one for a while now. Worked pretty well, hit bone and cartilage, was very hard to pull back out.

It's been a while since I've chased hogs with my bow, too long...I had to make a run to OK and stick some pigs. Waited till Mid April so turkey season would open up and I could do both. Turns out, it wasn't an ideal time as the new growth had the pigs all spread out... I was able to connect...
