I have the tripod and bipod. The tripod is a lot more stable.

That is what I did replace the mono with the tripod, still have it in the truck to use as a walking stick sometimes

The bipod is also easier for a guest to ge the legs down and spread. most of the time they've never used any trigger sticks so simpler is better ni the dark.
If there's time, sometimes I'll set up the tripod myself and tell them to hand me the bipod and put their gun on the tripod.. like if it's their first hog or there's some factor where I want them to have the easiest shot possible.

Here is my old school 70's vintage camera tripod. Adjusts a lot etc. Any suggestions on what may or may not mate up well with this on top? My bolt/screw size whatever it is I think is pretty standard this V notch thingy fits perfectly, but it's a see saw a bit. Might be nice to lock it in. The pig saddle seems like a fine idea it's for a 308AR. Worth a try? Do I still have the stoopits?

The Hog Saddle would just screw on in place of your V thing. I wouldn't put a ton of confidence in the tripod though. Those old knobs, joints and parts get brittle and might object to overload.

Ok thanks. I will keep that in mind with age/weight. You'd have to hold it to see, but this is from the era of when things were made to last, not break 10 days after the 1 year warranty:/ It weighs ~ 10 lbs and is built like a tank....hence my dilemma of carrying. This might be one that comes out of the truck and goes 10 feet.....not carried for 20 minutes to get into position!

I run and sell the Reaper Grip setup. It's an excellent turn-key rig. No shopping for ballheads and all that. Also, ballheads get dirt and them and the bearing surfaces can wear. The reaper is a sealed pivot head. Once you start pricing out tripods, adapters and ballheads, the price can get on up there. Especially with the super nice stuff (Really Right Stuff, for example).

I carry the reaper setup and the trigger stick with me. If its a shorter stalk or setting up stationary, then reaper. If a long stalk or in a big hurry then trigger stick.

That method has worked great for me for a while now.

I have been looking at your website and am very interested in the Reaper Grip and the Slik Pro 700 tripod as a combo.
I take it that these two items simply screw together and these are all I will need for shooting ?? (I have watched all your vids on the site.)
Do you offer any type of military discount ?? --- pruhdlr

I have tried virtually every bipod and tripod known to man and I absolutely love my PRS Tripod with the leveling head and quick disconnect. I spot and stalk when I hunt at night, I keep my tripod fully extended to my height preference and carry in one hand, rifle over the other shoulder and a light chest rig for my misc crap. This tripod is only about 4 lbs total, which is maybe double the trigger sticks weight if that. Only downsides I see is the tripod legs are much bigger in diameter therefore bulkier that the trigger sticks and the price of this setup was $1300 all said and done.

There's a thought …
Show up in a DJ mask and the hogs will just give up and roll over, right?

All I can add is that any kind of setup that requires you to sit is a bad idea. Sooner or later you are going to sit on something you don't want to . Fireants come to mind. :)

How much elevation can you adjust for with the leveling head?
