I started out with one from Acadamy I cant remember the brand but it was hard to read, so I picked up a Frankford Arsenal scale. Very easy to see and use, however I've noticed it will give you a different reading depending what part of the scale you put the powder cup on. A little right it gives ya one measurement, another spot on the scale might read a .10 of a grain difference. Sure I know .10 of a grain will not effect much with a 100 yard shot, but Ive been trying to work up a load in my .308 that I'll eventually be able to reach out to a 1000 yards. Id just like to know when I trickle 40.2 I get 40.2. Last night I switched back to my kit included beam manual scale, any thoughts on an accurate digital scale?

You might want to check the thread on electronic powder measures. They include a digital scale that can be purchased separately. The RCBS unit that I use has a contoured platen that only allows the powder pan to sit in one place or it is not stable and you can tell it is mis-aligned.

Generally any digital scale has a .1 variance, unless you get a lab grade unit which are very expensive. Most benchrest shooters use a high quality beam scale and put a Camara on it to get hyper accurate drops.

It depends on how accurate you want it. typically a very good electronic scale will do just fine for powder drops. I use a rcbs charge master which has served me well over the years, however I still use my 505 beam scale to check every charge when loading accuracy loads.

Other scales to look into are pact or ohaus. both are used by the serious reloaders including benchrest guys.
