More Hogs & Coyotes

First hunt, not too bad, but had a fail to feed due to a corroded case that did not want to leave the magazine. Before the next hunt, I pulled all my other cartridges from the magazine and scrubbed them thoroughly with a copper mesh scour pad.

Second hunt, my newest property. Lots of hogs, but definitely trying to make sure that the landowner's cattle are not endangered or look to be endangered by my shots (long chat with landowner before gaining access to property).

And yes, I missed a perfectly stationary, giant hog on a shot for which there was no great rush. I am sure that impressed the hell out of my new landowner. At least the follow-up was solid.

I'd say both should still be happy land owners. At least one hog down, and a couple of calf-killers as well. And the assurance that you're not reckless in your efforts should comfort them as you get yourself established (working with them). Even tri-pod efficiently got the heck outta Dodge. LOL

Another good night-2 hogs and 2 coyotes make a good hunt. Looks like a lot of targets on the new place, hoping you can thin them out some.

Good follow-up on hog #2.
Coyotes are always a good bonus.

One place I hunt the landowner's instructions are to "Shoot all the hogs you want, and EVERY coyote you see!"

Good thing at least one of us (all of us) is killing anything, otherwise the stagnation would run everyone away.

Tore my shoulder a bit more again wrestling with a calf in the chute...will be a bit before I'm out and about at night. *I retired with tears in both the labrum and rotator cuff...this isn't new to me.

You be careful with that shoulder... very complicated joint, need to keep the ones the good Lord borned ya with. Heal up.

Ugh! I had surgery for a damaged labrum 6-7 years ago. It certainly wasn't fun, but I obviously survived. The good news is that the shoulder on which the operation occurred is now my 'good' shoulder! Seriously, I have more range of motion (excellent) in that arm and shoulder than the other. Not only did they work on the shoulder joint, they cut the 'long head tendon', then drilled a hole in my humerus and pushed the tendon thru and tied it off. Anyway, it's MUCH better now. I lost about 5% of the strength in that arm, but it's barely noticeable.
Good luck to you!

Wrestling with calves is all fun and games until someone tears a shoulder.

Hijacking the thread; I pretty much destroyed my shoulders when I was in. Both had/have full tears of the rotator cuff with separation. Both had/have tears in the labrum. Both had/have biceps tenodesis, and chronic arthritis of the AC joint.

I had the right repaired twice back in 2017. It took two times to get it all I guess. It also took a LONG time before I was able to use it well. I have left the left shoulder alone, but not sure if I'll be forced into surgery on it someday.
