I keep thinking that the next time I manage to shoot a large boar with decent tusks, I'll secure the head somehow so that the coyotes don't haul it off. Then I'll come back and take the tusks. Generally though, the good/large boars have been shot way out in a field some place at half-past-really-dark and I either don't remember or don't want to make the effort to cut off the head and drag it back to someplace more convenient.
