Dave had a couple of his buddies over to hunt and I got to tag along. Both guys were hunters, but neither had hog hunted or hunted at night before, much less with thermal. We started off with a brief orientation on how the gear works, countdowns, shot discipline, etc. and headed out to hunt. It was chilly and there was a decent breeze most of the night, but that just made for good hunting. Having access to a lot of wheat fields also helped quite a bit.

Love that closing slo-mo kill! The thermal skidmark was kewl, bits flying from the QA shot made it extra sweet! Nice shootin' fellers.

One less fugitive from justice.

Yeah, my job was to do video and provide backup if needed, but since we were so close to the front door of the house and trying not to make too much noise, I wasn't going to shoot until Dave instructed. For all practical purposes, the boys made good shots and the hog wasn't long for this world, but we didn't know that until after we recovered it. At the time, all we knew is that we had a runner.

I like the Texas Twister spin the hog did on Brian's view in part 1.
